Step-by-Step Fix:
Charge the camera
-
Before attempting the pairing process, charge the camera for at least 3 hours.
-
Use the USB cable supplied with the kit. Using a 3rd-party cable may not work.
-
Connect the USB cable to a standard USB port. Avoid using the phone adapter to charge your camera.
-
After 3hrs, disconnect the cable and press the SET button once to see if it powers on.
-
If it powers on, proceed to the next step. If there are still no LED lights, raise a ticket with support.
Camera won't enter pairing mode
- Using a pin, press the RST button once to turn the camera OFF.
- Press the SET button once to turn the camera on. Wait for the camera to announce "This device is ready...".
- If there's no announcement, check the LED lights to see if the camera is powered on.
There are no LED Lights:
The camera may be out of battery and will need to be recharged for a few hours before attempting to pair it again.
If the same issue occurs even after charging, the camera may be faulty and will need to be replaced.
Before pairing,...
-
Make sure the camera is positioned at least 2 metres from the Access Point during setup. Placing a Wi-Fi HaLow device too close to the Access Point can cause RF front-end overload.
-
If pairing multiple cameras, pair them one at a time rather than powering on several at once.
QR Code pairing process:
- Launch the HaLowLink app.
- Tap the + symbol at the top of the screen.
- Tap Start to add a new device.
- Scan the QR code on the bottom of the camera.
- Follow the in-app instructions to finish pairing.
- Once paired, the connection status icon in the app should turn green.
If the above steps do not work, try the Push Button pairing process instead.
Push Button pairing process:
- Launch the HaLowLink app.
- Tap the + symbol at the top of the screen
- Tap Start to add a new device.
- Press the SET button on the Access Point for 1 second.
- Then, press the SET button on the camera for 1 second. (The SET button is located near the charging port)
Camera pairs but goes offline later
This is typically a range, interference, or power issue rather than a pairing issue:
- Confirm the camera is still within Wi-Fi HaLow range of the Access Point. Any walls, floors, and large metal objects (fridges, ductwork, filing cabinets) will reduce the range. Wi-Fi HaLow is better at wall penetration than standard 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, but it is still limited by obstructions.
- Confirm the Access Point itself is online (refer to the LED troubleshooting article) — if the Access Point loses its own connection, every paired camera will show offline too.
- Re-pair the camera if it's been offline for an extended period or after a factory reset.
Still not working
If the camera still won't pair or keeps dropping offline, visit support.halowlink.com. Note the LED colour/pattern you're seeing and roughly how far the camera is from the Access Point, and through how many walls/floors — this narrows down whether it's a range issue or a device fault.
